Würzburg Youth Hostel also lets you experience history: Hostel guests spend their night in a former women's prison here. But don't worry - there are no bars in front of the windows to spoil the view of the city or Marienberg fortress. Würzburg and its visitors certainly know how to celebrate. The city of wine on the banks of Main river is the venue of Europe's biggest African festival, always worth a trip for its music and the arts and crafts. Welcome to Würzburg Youth Hostel! The youth hostel has 238 beds in rooms with one to eight beds each, all with washbasins. Rooms for group leaders with en-suite shower and toilet. Dining room with 160 seats, 6 seminar / common rooms (36 - 110 sqm), table tennis and table football, common room for group leaders. Technical equipment: TV, video, slide and overhad projectors, DVD player, blackboard, flip chart and partitioning walls, Clavinova. We cooperate with Würzburg Environmental Station.

Für Übernachtungen in der Jugendherberge Würzburg müssen Sie Mitglied im Deutschen Jugendherbergswerk oder der Youth Hostel Association sein. Bei Ihrer Ankunft in der Unterkunft können Sie eine Mitgliedschaft erwerben. Die Jahresmitgliedschaft für Personen mit Wohnsitz in Deutschland unter 27 Jahren kostet € 7,00, oder €22,50 für Familien oder Personen über 27 Jahre. Gäste aus dem Ausland können Tagesmitgliedschaften zum Preis von € 3,50 pro Person und Nacht erwerben.

In order to be offered accommodation in a Youth Hostel, you have to be a member of the DJH or of another association of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). You can buy a membership at your arrival.

Arrival description

The Youth Hostel is located below Marienberg fortress on the left Main bank. The fortress is a good orientation point when arriving at the Hostel. From the A 7 Hanover - Würzburg - Ulm
take exit Estenfeld, in the direction of Stadtmitte/Hauptbahnhof (city centre/main station). After passing the city limits, follow B8 until you get to Berliner Platz. At the roundabout, take the second exit (direction "Bahnhof" - train station), cross Friedensbrücke bridge, then turn left. The Youth Hostel is located about 500 metres down the road on the right-hand side of the road (behind the church). From the A 3 Frankfurt - Würzburg - Nürnberg take exit Heidingsfeld and follow signs to Stadtmitte (city centre). Take the second turn to the right (Festung Marienberg, Congress Zentrum). Carry on straight ahead along the tram tracks for about 1,300 metres. Then turn right in the direction of Zellerau Congress Zentrum. The Youth Hostel is located just behind the underpass to your left. The parking spaces by the Youth Hostel are public and free of charge. Car parks: 14 and bus parks: 2. You cycle immediately past the Hostel if you take the Maintal cycling route. The "Romantic Road" cycling route ends just around the corner from the Youth Hostel.
Marienburg fortress is an ideal orientation point for you, the Hostel is located just below the fortress.
